Installing Muine from Packages

Muine is available through package repositories for the most popular Linux distributions.

• SUSE/OpenSUSE 10
• Ubuntu (Breezy or Dapper)
• Foresight Linux (Installed by default)
• Mandriva Linux (Cooker only)
• Gentoo Linux (Portage)
• Fedora (5 or 6)
• ArchLinux (Pacman Repo)

Building Muine from Source

There are 2 main ways to get hold of Muine:

• The latest release tarball is available here.
• You can check out Muine from GNOME SVN:

  svn co http://svn.gnome.org/svn/muine/trunk muine

To build Muine from the source code, you will need:

• Mono
• Gtk#
• GStreamer 0.10.x
• The FLAC libraries
• The Ogg Vorbis libraries

And optionally:

• libid3tag (for MP3 support)
• faad2 (for AAC support)
